Registration FAQs
To register, click here and follow the prompts to create a Race Roster account. Once your account has been created, complete the registration form and process the payment.
If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent/guardian to complete the form on your behalf. Your parent/guardian will need to create (or login to) their own Race Roster account, then select the ‘someone else’ option when asked who they are completing the form for.
All participants will need to provide the below information when they register.

Participants under the age of 18 will be required to have a parent/guardian register on their behalf.

You can update your registration by logging in to your Race Roster account. To login, click here. You will need to make sure you are accessing your Backroads 2025 entry, which you can do by selecting Backroads under the Event Selector.
Yes, unless a category has sold out. Late registrations can be completed onsite during rider check-in and pack collection.
If you have registered online, you will not need to register onsite. You will however need to attend check-in during opening hours to collect your rider race pack, prior to your race start.

60KM Lupin Loop - 17 years as of 31st December 2025
20KM Farmroad Flyer - 10 years as of 31st December 2025

Marathon Run Solo - 18 years as of event day (9th August 2025)
Marathon Run Duo - 16 years as of event day (9th August 2025)
14KM Run - 16 years as of event day (9th August 2025)
5KM Run - 8 years as of event day (9th August 2025)
Only for the 20KM Farmroad Flyers & 10KM Gravel Groms if the child taking part is under the 10 years or younger as of the calculated age date of 31st December 2025.
Withdrawal FAQs
You can find your options under the withdrawal policy, which you can access by clicking here. A summary of these options is below.

If you purchased the Race Roster Refund Protection Program when you registered, please follow the instructions in the email you would have got after registering. You can view more information by clicking here.

You can transfer your registration to another rider up until midnight 4th August. The new rider will be required to pay a $20 transfer fee, but the original entry fee will not be refunded.

The Race Roster Refund Protection Program is a feature part of Race Roster that you have the option to purchase during registration. If purchased during registration, this entitles you for a full entry fee refund up until the event. The cover to be eligible for a refund is, but not limited to:

Injury & illness
-
COVID-19
-
Severe weather preventing you from getting to the event

Layoffs/terminations

Mechanical breakdowns
The policy is not managed or run by the organisers of Backroads Gravel. All claims for a refund are to go through the policy provider, PROTECHT, who will decide your eligibility of a refund. Further information on the program can be found here.

Riders can transfer their entry to someone else, up until midnight 4th August. If you’d like to transfer your entry, then you will need email us at backroads@theeventteam.com.au with the new person's name and email. They will be sent an email via Race Roster, where they will need to select the ‘Claim Now’ option, complete the entry form and pay a $20 transfer fee.
Refunds are not provided to the original participant the entry was transferred from. The new person can only transfer to the original participants sub event registered for.
Check In FAQs
Check in is where you will collect either your bike plate or running bib (depending on the event you are doing). It is also where you will be able to collect merchandise pre purchased and also get event information.
Yes, all riders and runners are required to attend check in either the day before the event or the morning of. Once you have the bike plate/running bib then you are ready to go.
We will send you your event eTicket the week of the event which will contain a QR code with further check in information. The eTicket is required to check into the event so that we know it is you and scan you in as riding/running.

Merchandise FAQs
You can purchase merchandise during registration or after you have registered through the Race Roster event store. A registration is required to pre purchase merchandise before event day. More information can be found on our merchandise page here.
All merchandise orders pre event are for collection at event time during the check in hours when you collect your bike plate/running bib.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds on merchandise as we can’t guarantee that we will be able to resell it.
Event Day FAQs
In 2025 the event will be taking place on Saturday 9th of August.
The event takes place about a 30 minute drive outside of Geraldton WA in a small town called Nabawa. The event starts and finishes at the football oval located in the heart of the town.

Course FAQs
2025 courses will be released about a month out from the event. This is to ensure the private land we ride through is maintained and we do not disturb the local farmers that let us use the land on event day.

Bike FAQs
You can ride with any bike that has a minimum 33mm tyre thickness, including mountain bikes.
No, aero bars are not allowed in the event due to AusCycling rules.
